In March the Cub Scout did a Pine Wood Derby. I'm the cub scout leader for the wolves and bears (scary, right?) so I took charge of decoration and food. As far as how to run a pack meeting or a pine wood derby race...I left that to more qualified people.<br />

The race was a Western theme so I had all the boys take "mugshots." Then they made "Wanted: as an eagle scout" posters. Then they listed qualifications that they had. It was pretty cute and the boys were hilarious with their pictures. Aaron had come straight from swim (without a brush) so he naturally looked a wreck. The night of the event I was so busy setting up and such that I completely forgot to take pictures. We had made some really cute centerpieces (each boy was in charge of bringing one) and there were a bunch of big marshmellows that were dipped in chocolate and sprinkles with a note that said. "Please don't feed the bears (or wolves or webelos)." I thought they were cute. There was plenty of food and fun.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today there was an accident and our dog Riley died. Even though I often questioned what moment of insanity prompted us to get a dog...I find myself missing him tonight. This evening I have replayed what I could have done differently to change the events of today but that does nothing to change the reality. Playing games of 'What if...' or 'I should have...' only lead to feelings of guilt on my part.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The hardest part of it all is watching my children. As they sobbed over the loss of their dog, I held them and cried with them. Steven has been walking around the house this evening saying, 'Riley died.' Before he went to bed he was crying saying 'He's in Daddy's hole.' We buried him this afternoon and I think it helped provide a little bit of closure for the children. I took a few pictures that I'll add tomorrow (my technological skills fail me tonight).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
He was a permanent fixture in our family (even though I refused to let him be in the family picture). The kids loved him and tried to take him everywhere. We'll miss him!</div>

Steven and Riley have grown up together. Steven is the first to put him in the laundry room if he's in trouble but he's also the first one to notice when his water bowl is empty. Riley was always there to clean Steven's face off after he had eaten and Steven was always dropping food on the ground so Riley could sample. They were buddies. Pals. It was so fun to watch them together!</div>

Abigail and Jacob loved him too. When we went on a walk or to the park they wanted Riley to come with us. Change is always difficult but learning how to cope with it is essential to progressing in life. Shortly after our initial tears, Abigail asked me if we could pray. She and I went to my room and she offered a simple, yet heartfelt prayer. She prayed that Riley would have a good day in heaven and that we wouldn't be too sad. What an inspiration she is to me!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It's so hard to say goodbye, especially when that goodbye comes too soon, but we are grateful for the many wonderful memories that we have of Riley.</div>

We even had a concession stand. There was a lot of food but it's not in the picture. We had popcorn, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered oreos that looked like baseballs and lemonade. He had chocolate cupcakes that were shaped into a baseball mitt. It wasn't as cute as the one on pinterest but Aarons was sufficiently impressed. Today is a first...I am actually posting something on the same day that it happened! Miracle of miracles! In January, Aaron started swim lessons at the Y. He had the endurance to swim but he had to work on technique and learning the actual strokes. At the beginning of March he tried out for the swim team and made it. He was so excited!</div>

Hanging out in the gym after warming up. He wears his goggles all the time which is also why he loses them all the time. This morning before the meet we couldn't find them because he had been using them for X-ray vision yesterday.<br />

Lining up for one of his heats. He participated in 2 relays and 4 individual events. I was a time keeper for the whole 4 1/2 hours of racing. My back and legs hurt and my tummy was rumbling but it was all worth it. Josh stayed home with the others and it was a good thing. That place got a little crazy. Next month it won't be a home meet so I won't have to be as involved.</div>

Aaron was so excited and surprised that he won a heat (and no he wasn't the only one racing). It was for his 100m IM (I think that stands for independent medley). They did a length of the pool in four different strokes. I just snapped a quick picture in between events...thus the poor lighting. All in all it was a fun, but long, day. </div>

I am attempting to recap the last year with the highlights. In New Mexico, the students start doing Science Fair projects in 4th grade. Emma did hers on preserving apples. It was kind of fun and she did almost all the work. The blog has been resurrected! After over a year of neglect, and due to numerous pleadings of my husband, I am once again attempting to document some of the happenings of the Martin household. We'll see how it goes!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2976901853875937372.post-32424417569235196762012-02-18T17:41:00.000-08:002012-02-18T17:57:57.069-08:00Aaron turns 8!Today Aaron turned 8 years old and he also got to have his baptism today. He was so excited! Josh and Aaron went to eat at IHOP this morning at 6:30. When they got home, we got everything ready and headed to the church. Aaron had asked Emma to speak and Josh's parents had come into town for the occasion. After the baptism, we had a few treats and visited with friends and then the family took off for Shoguns-a Japanese steakhouse where they grill in front of you. The kids always look forward to going! After eating, Grandfather took the older two kids to see Star Wars in 3D (a movie they'd been wanting to see) and we ended the day by eating cheesecake and playing with Aunt Cati's two (rather large) dogs. It was a great day!<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizUUiwsk9h7LExz65zYrS8Hh0ZGL9DzX0CAptL6AW6gv8c35Wbfy4Dp6wDhl7V7b5sUIjl7dKmlIsUeWeTRs2klFn6JpOvHftMnjFREi6D_wZ5PAEW0GiRX58zc6dBhuCFHYKMgaFfZNCj/s1600/IMG_6380a.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5710656691629001650" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizUUiwsk9h7LExz65zYrS8Hh0ZGL9DzX0CAptL6AW6gv8c35Wbfy4Dp6wDhl7V7b5sUIjl7dKmlIsUeWeTRs2klFn6JpOvHftMnjFREi6D_wZ5PAEW0GiRX58zc6dBhuCFHYKMgaFfZNCj/s320/IMG_6380a.jpg" /></a> Before the baptism...boy was he excited!<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizMZtXIqavzp5chNzmZsfcGFNLvFKZz6U5He8oU7Zo2q3WVCSR3jC3FyAcJERiYAqYAC2yeDNosz4U0QVB_HA1tbyfbALCjIffOwVg0uhccnCPrrlLQveT2tWqUMC3MhrxoGCEugo0e4oE/s1600/Copy+of+IMG_7161.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5710656686341801970" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizMZtXIqavzp5chNzmZsfcGFNLvFKZz6U5He8oU7Zo2q3WVCSR3jC3FyAcJERiYAqYAC2yeDNosz4U0QVB_HA1tbyfbALCjIffOwVg0uhccnCPrrlLQveT2tWqUMC3MhrxoGCEugo0e4oE/s320/Copy+of+IMG_7161.JPG" /></a> Aaron in March 2007. Her room had been needing a makeover anyways so I agreed. So the day of her birthday and the day before I banned her from her room and went into makeover mode. While she was at school, I drug all her furniture out and repainted it...needless to say I was an obsessed woman that day. I got the room done in time for a grand reveal on her birthday when she got home from dance.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipK6n0FmL9tKtiLaaRtCFxOSAfRzwsRSOxU47Bq7h5KOl2rS7l3YEMTksUHimz9uFTFWP8Z1_8ColbwW40OliaJj5YzIrlX7un7yQd1bDvpx93C58zFk0_NfyjYskggST2C-qRKTS5Wxwb/s1600/025.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5710131447633836194" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipK6n0FmL9tKtiLaaRtCFxOSAfRzwsRSOxU47Bq7h5KOl2rS7l3YEMTksUHimz9uFTFWP8Z1_8ColbwW40OliaJj5YzIrlX7un7yQd1bDvpx93C58zFk0_NfyjYskggST2C-qRKTS5Wxwb/s320/025.JPG" /></a> She waited (somewhat impatiently) to see it.</div><br /><div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgghj4jN0o9a40k2VypOn2gp7KOZ5zivWkqLSS8exMk4DbmGD3KF_hdEAlVOCmQ0_z53HhHjekPvS06Gx471xAu3sS2lNdv2JTuYgZtWXdrvzjd3ckP7BDK4yty5ByAxVRIsK8ky0uqO9B-/s1600/026.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5710131429512050866" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgghj4jN0o9a40k2VypOn2gp7KOZ5zivWkqLSS8exMk4DbmGD3KF_hdEAlVOCmQ0_z53HhHjekPvS06Gx471xAu3sS2lNdv2JTuYgZtWXdrvzjd3ckP7BDK4yty5ByAxVRIsK8ky0uqO9B-/s320/026.JPG" /></a> But when she opened her eyes, she was so excited and it was worth all the work I had put into it.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVW-2RqejBFspMjEu0QqkrwzXwftyvC7kic9qOoJ5uiRrV-z4c7EL4rlOtesOjB2-CT7whK2hyphenhyphen3uDRLITsWGPXwZF4ruhuG2WyuDO-4J1uZPKMXIgyRqR2yqyoxdw1ba7fhWpNZdu0TBUo/s1600/032.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5710131423229750690" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVW-2RqejBFspMjEu0QqkrwzXwftyvC7kic9qOoJ5uiRrV-z4c7EL4rlOtesOjB2-CT7whK2hyphenhyphen3uDRLITsWGPXwZF4ruhuG2WyuDO-4J1uZPKMXIgyRqR2yqyoxdw1ba7fhWpNZdu0TBUo/s320/032.JPG" /></a> There's her dresser. It's safe to say that he has been bitten by the camping bug. However, I love that he really enjoys taking the kids with him. They keep trying to get me to go too, but Steven is still too young...I wonder how long I can use that excuse. :) They camped out Friday night and went hiking on Saturday. When they got home, it was time to start the New Year's Eve festivities. Needless to say, none of the kids were awake to ring the new year in. They were deeply asleep sprawled out on the floor. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHw4QIP7iTAhJzGJ2C-BbX3PJKWvKYVZYLZZvneb7dSCdV1UVXm8sSH18G4v_xk7cFzBigoS2JtePPRiBFaVCD1QCfyoJra2FpkP-weLaaYxTrBFLEcA7I61WpwFTZYGGCdx4XGfAUypQX/s1600/574a.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693215205309791698" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHw4QIP7iTAhJzGJ2C-BbX3PJKWvKYVZYLZZvneb7dSCdV1UVXm8sSH18G4v_xk7cFzBigoS2JtePPRiBFaVCD1QCfyoJra2FpkP-weLaaYxTrBFLEcA7I61WpwFTZYGGCdx4XGfAUypQX/s320/574a.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnPnk-CQroP1IfbbPA1Sm2Qq6ZFk3nQqs8VAFxkrrivMX1UySdZ855gg0VWCX4HrqO8eH8wwyuU_koUhi2JIOkBi_-bxjpF9aRf9EUgPVdED_lUg9bSRM_gnKJs-GpB2U0dlJJi9Dq7jjn/s1600/567a.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693215191398862626" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnPnk-CQroP1IfbbPA1Sm2Qq6ZFk3nQqs8VAFxkrrivMX1UySdZ855gg0VWCX4HrqO8eH8wwyuU_koUhi2JIOkBi_-bxjpF9aRf9EUgPVdED_lUg9bSRM_gnKJs-GpB2U0dlJJi9Dq7jjn/s320/567a.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPIZKQ5_1KLIibqz_oT1NJ6Rtlf1LvouggwIeIv4Gro1MCNZ4ODPIJN56R8KSvrCMtGXAGwjcjma_gLStsaVQZCF8_Sck8Xx7g-Dl5S7iMsQS2v4qOWan-kIQNWSgDZtOtFQUerVHHc8MM/s1600/683.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693215188963652786" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPIZKQ5_1KLIibqz_oT1NJ6Rtlf1LvouggwIeIv4Gro1MCNZ4ODPIJN56R8KSvrCMtGXAGwjcjma_gLStsaVQZCF8_Sck8Xx7g-Dl5S7iMsQS2v4qOWan-kIQNWSgDZtOtFQUerVHHc8MM/s320/683.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyxU6xxcHdq-mlePlvuUTeIXCrZk0JmmB_I_HXs31HADnYsMp6RGT_Xp5D6Q5x797MGhvsa4lINEQuJpyzxV7m5LssFBSeufrnqvk-ZxboIjiCaywGV9snS5pj_AXTfIEQaLfygWcgkZ8N/s1600/689.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693215183338253170" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyxU6xxcHdq-mlePlvuUTeIXCrZk0JmmB_I_HXs31HADnYsMp6RGT_Xp5D6Q5x797MGhvsa4lINEQuJpyzxV7m5LssFBSeufrnqvk-ZxboIjiCaywGV9snS5pj_AXTfIEQaLfygWcgkZ8N/s320/689.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV0o6drVIsmUZPmtHuJDzk0DPgmS4DJUJnD-QSs__oVR5NOeVhIwh_Grv2D3A9D96ZwmSu5bGgXB1c8li7I9viThUES3XC8N1Wh8dBMUIpUC3PqHXM-lt79lblnoAdqN9WC6HL4ykl77sc/s1600/516.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693215176494670706" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV0o6drVIsmUZPmtHuJDzk0DPgmS4DJUJnD-QSs__oVR5NOeVhIwh_Grv2D3A9D96ZwmSu5bGgXB1c8li7I9viThUES3XC8N1Wh8dBMUIpUC3PqHXM-lt79lblnoAdqN9WC6HL4ykl77sc/s320/516.JPG" /></a></div></div></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2976901853875937372.post-49012814491128802632012-01-01T22:21:00.000-08:002012-01-01T22:31:57.606-08:00Camping in Santa FeDuring the Christmas break, Josh and Aaron went snowshoeing up in Santa Fe. It got down to 10 degrees at night and up to 21 degrees during the day. After camping the night before, they hiked about 3 miles in 2 feet of snow and loved every minute of it--though I'm not sure why. They came back after 24 hours (they had planned to stay 2 nights) because there was a pretty bad storm coming. Thankfully they made it through right before they closed down the interstate. As crazy as I think they are, both of them were very excited and proud of their recent adventure.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim_tYellqR46X4ImtiipsvgtulsXseUjMJ3p6bI2SrDOuAVNqobon0-XxV_rcFULkRnxaWlILuGZpVZ3BKqzDuPU8_BmJTfghUw9-fFQIT_pxMSKAbwkR8tMmdLaakkx-J2eMCXUWmrTCu/s1600/IMG_1026a.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5692917242578595266" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim_tYellqR46X4ImtiipsvgtulsXseUjMJ3p6bI2SrDOuAVNqobon0-XxV_rcFULkRnxaWlILuGZpVZ3BKqzDuPU8_BmJTfghUw9-fFQIT_pxMSKAbwkR8tMmdLaakkx-J2eMCXUWmrTCu/s320/IMG_1026a.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7Lvpv9DTAxuJ-MD2qmJpaIah4mbul6yXcviuUCa8UKY4AB7K7zm9Vv4RoTcHUc4JwqlPaUKuVHBzGa-k5FCCpBWBFR-gf32NbOuLXWQJt6Ill0nNui3yZtVLscsHuXN_tuTwW2frsRs0B/s1600/IMG_1021a.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5692917237322782562" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7Lvpv9DTAxuJ-MD2qmJpaIah4mbul6yXcviuUCa8UKY4AB7K7zm9Vv4RoTcHUc4JwqlPaUKuVHBzGa-k5FCCpBWBFR-gf32NbOuLXWQJt6Ill0nNui3yZtVLscsHuXN_tuTwW2frsRs0B/s320/IMG_1021a.jpg" /></a> Stopping for a lunch break of Ramen noodles. So when we woke up this morning to snow on the ground I thought I would have the perfect picture to put in the card. However, the weather channel said it was 17 degrees and felt like 2 degrees outside. It was windy and snowy and bit too bright. Needless to say, some kids were cold, some couldn't open their eyes, and some were just too young to cooperate. That being said, none of the pictures turned out quite how I imagined they would. So while I didn't feel like including them in the Christmas card, I definately think they are blog worthy. Here's my snow pictures!<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBgphfjhQS7-1dUYDyllymBJEI-hDBH-szFRWT9U0wnGbXlO640DwsBtSpZ7non0rFJ6f03svYJfNz-VjIJ_6WKQ3y9YzK4-AmvcUXJ7E9zyltWltPOMhPg4E6h-wv3W4kUNF1nDnhksL0/s1600/IMG_6358.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5682696928300351458" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBgphfjhQS7-1dUYDyllymBJEI-hDBH-szFRWT9U0wnGbXlO640DwsBtSpZ7non0rFJ6f03svYJfNz-VjIJ_6WKQ3y9YzK4-AmvcUXJ7E9zyltWltPOMhPg4E6h-wv3W4kUNF1nDnhksL0/s320/IMG_6358.JPG" /></a> Steven stands like a champ and can walk up to eight steps. I've started repainting my table and chairs (and stools and shelves). It should be really cute. I'll post pictures when I'm done. I also decided to finally hang something on the wall. I got a framed picture that says 'bon appetit' vertically. Then I had a mini photo shoot with my kids. These are the pictures that I'll be putting around the picture...along with one of all the kids together.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQhYyk1d3ITFAhIImflSPIQDvIU0puqOMXj9YF5plF_aDu9BnIEhDczy5suU_93ZC8sxBBWZQvJP3UmPo3bsVmeh1o1VHTCz9zj4DfMd4xTaTCfEBZWQhtTlHvLoFYzbaiHtImkaSnQ4-U/s1600/IMG_6249steven.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 256px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5681946710322935554" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQhYyk1d3ITFAhIImflSPIQDvIU0puqOMXj9YF5plF_aDu9BnIEhDczy5suU_93ZC8sxBBWZQvJP3UmPo3bsVmeh1o1VHTCz9zj4DfMd4xTaTCfEBZWQhtTlHvLoFYzbaiHtImkaSnQ4-U/s320/IMG_6249steven.jpg" /></a> Steven was really into the tomatoes. That meant that for two weeks I had to save the seed out of every fruit or vegetable that we ate. Aaron was really good at reminding me to keep them. :)<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDNpOyQOOKzJ3fO9ecGD5uoK3k-OAUNKekiStf8TKCxn3Ko6u2LqJgaFbd9g26BKXocw8zWYOa9T4m8C42NLHumvlccx9-YpXkvJ32hXpGdexML5Lv0f-P4fNUVC5Jd2PlGQv0_cYcrxY5/s1600/IMG_6084a.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5675326426961802386" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDNpOyQOOKzJ3fO9ecGD5uoK3k-OAUNKekiStf8TKCxn3Ko6u2LqJgaFbd9g26BKXocw8zWYOa9T4m8C42NLHumvlccx9-YpXkvJ32hXpGdexML5Lv0f-P4fNUVC5Jd2PlGQv0_cYcrxY5/s320/IMG_6084a.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz8ZpYcDRQ55dgO5vaLbYLWieQaLbRcIk51qOKVIVNSuRMFNR_i00WT5G3uPf3gysHtEQxSrsLdFOkmxbLk-1hjJ8dxqYeRb13bwghEkpc55hKrGILmIEtxhWjJCGgyDN4an5L3mhmVEau/s1600/IMG_6083.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5675326422338431330" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz8ZpYcDRQ55dgO5vaLbYLWieQaLbRcIk51qOKVIVNSuRMFNR_i00WT5G3uPf3gysHtEQxSrsLdFOkmxbLk-1hjJ8dxqYeRb13bwghEkpc55hKrGILmIEtxhWjJCGgyDN4an5L3mhmVEau/s320/IMG_6083.JPG" /></a> He did a really good job. The kids have been going through a phase where they love to dress up...so Halloween meant they got to put on their favorite costumes. And yes, I said costumeS because some of them wore a different one to each Halloween event we went to. I have to admit that I had a lot of fun dressing them up too. Now if only I could figure out a way to keep my hands out of the candy bowls, I would like Halloween a little bit more.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxz4bZO492f2zFRS2iKfIi8w-VymgFKstlFU7kkLOrFQ1TAvJHUMAyLsrB5JEhhiuCLKT4GjoTtWgTiktAy_wlPFUFKNB2WgWH7TBPuoEKp9hZhu0_eOHpPayEPg1DYFE3zN7jrwMbOITe/s1600/IMG_6195a.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5675091651214683874" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxz4bZO492f2zFRS2iKfIi8w-VymgFKstlFU7kkLOrFQ1TAvJHUMAyLsrB5JEhhiuCLKT4GjoTtWgTiktAy_wlPFUFKNB2WgWH7TBPuoEKp9hZhu0_eOHpPayEPg1DYFE3zN7jrwMbOITe/s320/IMG_6195a.jpg" /></a> Emma and two of her friends dressed up as Cindy Lou Who from 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas.' Of course I still had the baby, but he almost doesn't count...he's just part of me. They left early Friday morning and didn't get back until dinner time on Saturday. It was so quiet and I loved every minute of it. Of course I missed them...but it was sure nice to clean the house and then not need to clean it for a WHOLE day. Simple pleasures, I say. They all had a blast and are planning another trip in the near future.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGyDhIYBDj2kN5hDWxJI1bHFJwuuWuvw9KxlBQKeJPm6OvQDC58BDINao0xyTcGaiUjf9dp-9LbrdRFA_Ox7F59GeOrirH-CGc5AWLDKM__dAUJVCIK3QishoBIB2prrb7MPJsuUt_Szhi/s1600/IMG_0763.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 180px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5645188376407583570" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGyDhIYBDj2kN5hDWxJI1bHFJwuuWuvw9KxlBQKeJPm6OvQDC58BDINao0xyTcGaiUjf9dp-9LbrdRFA_Ox7F59GeOrirH-CGc5AWLDKM__dAUJVCIK3QishoBIB2prrb7MPJsuUt_Szhi/s320/IMG_0763.JPG" /></a> Abigail picked me some flowers. They stayed with us a few night before they left the rolling plains of Clovis, NM for the fast-paced life of the city. We cleaned her house, went out for a birthday dinner, and let the kids spent some quality time together. The girls camped out in our "Huntsman hotel." It was a blast!

What we thought would be a quick walk through some greenery turned into an hour and a half lecture in the jungle. The kids had a blast...my dad and I weren't quite as excited about it. Emma really like talking with our guide. She asked lots of questions which is one reason it took so long. Now that it's checked off my list, we don't have to go back next year. :)<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhukWj5agJELohBqphVsags_5e_53bF6P82uezK-09Qz5EHCdA7c2UvbXnb0d2eJiGXzMBqtJncDAD1tB3JQz39q_2Z_Cv3fpuZjBixKx0VjiKYusB0LwbdTsgcus1X3Mb7qN913QLYkuLR/s1600/IMG_5696.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5639308105984311394" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhukWj5agJELohBqphVsags_5e_53bF6P82uezK-09Qz5EHCdA7c2UvbXnb0d2eJiGXzMBqtJncDAD1tB3JQz39q_2Z_Cv3fpuZjBixKx0VjiKYusB0LwbdTsgcus1X3Mb7qN913QLYkuLR/s320/IMG_5696.JPG" /></a> My dad with the kids. The older I get, the faster the time seems to pass. Every time I turn around, it seems that my kids are growing like weeds. Last week Steven turned 6 months old. He rolls like a champ and can scoot around a room like an inchworm. He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth, but he's not real sure where to go from there. He usually just falls forward...thus the inchworm. He's sitting up and eating baby food...which can get pretty messy. I've been negligent on my blogging, but I plan to repent and post daily pictures of our summer adventures until I catch up. We'll see how that goes. :) Here's some shots of Steven during this summer.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT8O851fDkNnEZ_6EopqljkHySNBRI7r5MTvW6R8a1TuxV748AWBnZyw9I-BYgEXj-VtOQ2ocGqtdsWASJAC713ZTkzLpuqrEkgGPnAunKaV7tE_tsEBL4meTz61vASCUjM6SUDYMpgn7O/s1600/IMG_5604a.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5635382848519780050" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT8O851fDkNnEZ_6EopqljkHySNBRI7r5MTvW6R8a1TuxV748AWBnZyw9I-BYgEXj-VtOQ2ocGqtdsWASJAC713ZTkzLpuqrEkgGPnAunKaV7tE_tsEBL4meTz61vASCUjM6SUDYMpgn7O/s320/IMG_5604a.jpg" /></a> Smiling at Grandfather.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2upjFfwXdQdqFs10ibGuuYZ7JqbTBX50VwmrG15_TT2pHf3On575FoOmbkEiEiMKk-lZIyFl8y75R-NMtCl_wlOdgJT9rcYG94-PspnfRmFAj-R91jbW4H0ANLEmf_oqurwKM1jgJKosL/s1600/IMG_5734.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5635382847384682082" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2upjFfwXdQdqFs10ibGuuYZ7JqbTBX50VwmrG15_TT2pHf3On575FoOmbkEiEiMKk-lZIyFl8y75R-NMtCl_wlOdgJT9rcYG94-PspnfRmFAj-R91jbW4H0ANLEmf_oqurwKM1jgJKosL/s320/IMG_5734.JPG" /></a> Relaxing at Papa's<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNTAVSD3Nt3Yh98QEJ3J7uBl4eQbK2FdF0Li-_eBbhJ95NNiKigVVL0zalr-_40zLK6vIB7Kv4n7XsY7RE0jTiZ06HhpsnFGsP3YNJ-qHGNoCLjS4gVdt1kFga7TSJkUMIYzIms-CDS55X/s1600/IMG_5811.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5635382841511617170" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNTAVSD3Nt3Yh98QEJ3J7uBl4eQbK2FdF0Li-_eBbhJ95NNiKigVVL0zalr-_40zLK6vIB7Kv4n7XsY7RE0jTiZ06HhpsnFGsP3YNJ-qHGNoCLjS4gVdt1kFga7TSJkUMIYzIms-CDS55X/s320/IMG_5811.JPG" /></a> Happy after eating lunch...I'm not sure where he get's the orange color in his hair. In Aaron's room, he was holding Steven's hand while we sang. He and I visited for a few minutes after I had finished, and this is one thing he told me:<br />"Mom, you're Steven's best friend now. But when he gets older, he'll be the boys' best friend and we'll all go to the Father-son campout together."<br />I'm glad they're still excited about being friends with each other....and I hope they always will be!<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI3K7TcaVxOcSyZnMvFsSF7NCQdoCrM6kyYBtJ80SiIUi69TlzrDX0V26LL6RcOuHHO8Lhs4KT2YvncoZO3aLewaQ-I1H9nVkl2e_0lYDP_n9oIkoGQzRuXkhRu9CaVMzwyXZLyWb1mGcy/s1600/IMG_0021.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5609895965340143970" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI3K7TcaVxOcSyZnMvFsSF7NCQdoCrM6kyYBtJ80SiIUi69TlzrDX0V26LL6RcOuHHO8Lhs4KT2YvncoZO3aLewaQ-I1H9nVkl2e_0lYDP_n9oIkoGQzRuXkhRu9CaVMzwyXZLyWb1mGcy/s320/IMG_0021.jpg" /></a>At Aaron's last soccer game...poor little fellow gets drug around everywhere. It was tons of fun, but by the end Steven was plum tuckered out! They're so cute when they're sleeping!</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2
