Volleyball season

This spring Emma decided she wanted to play volleyball. I was a little nervous about it since she had never played before. But a friend of mine was coaching and I knew she would take care of Emma. It was one more thing to add to our busy schedule, but it was worth it. Emma was always excited to go to practice and she was always smiling. You could definately tell that it was her first year playing, but she enjoyed every minute of it. After every game Emma would say, 'And I almost got the ball over the net.' I'm sure with practice the ball will flying over the net.
Her team, The Netters. Even though it doesn't sound like the best team name, it was made up of some wonderful girls.

This is how Emma would stand for most of the game. She was very prepared.

Regardless of the outcome, the girls had a blast! After six short weeks, volleyball is over and I can mark one thing off my list. Only one more month and we'll be relaxing back East with no schedule at all. I can't wait!

Girls day out!

We were going out to go shopping so the girls wanted to get their pocketbooks and 'fix' their hair. They were just cute I had to snap a picture of it!

Wii brought in the New Year together

This past year was the first time that we let the kids celebrate (or at least attempt to celebrate) the new year. We got all kinds of treats for our 'party' and let each kid take turns picking the games we played. Emma and Aaron always picked the Wii (their favorite Christmas present). It was so much fun to just relax and hang out. Just before midnight struck I went around the house to see who would be welcoming in the New Year. The only person awake was Aaron, who was attentively watching the Disney channel. I think he had hit his second wind because it took him a while to finally go to sleep. The kids all talked about our party for days. Josh was such a good sport. He even joined in on Just Dance. He broke out some moves that even he probably didn't know he had. :)
Abigail was more relaxed. She picked out a Princess movie to watch.
Jacob decided to watch the movie with her. Thankfully, he fell asleep by 8:30.
Next on the agenda was Marior Kart. That game is a classic!
This was our assortment of party food. You'll notice soda, chips, cookies, and lots of candy. Needless to say, this was their favorite part of the night.

Backyard fun

Last October we bought a house here in Clovis. The kids have loved having a backyard because now they can go outside anytime they want. One day the girls were trying their hand at hula-hooping. It was a lot of fun and they did pretty well. I, on the other hand, have lost quite a bit of my "hooping" skills.

Happy Halloween

For Halloween last year, we went to the trunk 'or treat at the church. Jacob was a pirate...boy has this costume been worn!
Abigail was a cow.
Aaron was Anakin Skywalker (sp). He especially liked the mask.
I forget what Emma was, but she took her costume off as soon as she had finished getting her candy.

Time marches on...

So two months have flown by and I'm not quite sure where they went. I haven't posted in a while because I couldn't download my pictures from the camera to the computer. I'm sure it has nothing to do with having a newborn, keeping up with the housework, or playing taxi driver (not to mention trying to eat lunch and maybe exercise). So for the next few weeks I'll be playing catch-up on my pictures so that I'll have some documentation of what the kids have been doing. Right now we're going full swing with all of their activities. Emma is getting ready for dance competition and recital and she recently started volleyball (which she loves!). Aaron is playing soccer and baseball--which means that we live on one ball field or another. Abby has dance every week and is constantly trying to invite friends over...because we just don't have enough to do. :) Steven and Jacob just come along for the ride. And what a crazy ride it is!!! Steven is wondering why I am taking his picture...again.
Aaron loves being a big brother. However, he doesn't last too long when it comes to holding him.
